Factory Droid v0.185.1 to v0.228.1 brought major improvements to session management, workspace controls, and integrations, with new editor options and enhanced chat capabilities.
Session and Workspace Management
- Session archiving: Archive and restore chat sessions using /archive or Ctrl+X for better organization.
- Session forking: Fork sessions directly from the session list row without entering the session.
- Computer management: View usage, update Droid, reconnect, or reboot a session's computer from within the session.
- Repository selection in panels: Target different repositories in files, diffs, and terminals without changing the working directory.
Chat and Settings
- Settings in chat: Propose and apply settings changes directly in chat with instant review and application.
- LaTeX math rendering: Mathematical expressions now display formatted in chat instead of raw markup.
- Context compression: Use /compress to summarize your session or /handoff to start a summary-only successor session.
- Side chat with tool awareness: View in-progress work and live tool calls in side chat while stopping questions as needed.
Integrations and Editors
- Editor options: Open session files directly in VSCodium or PyCharm from the editor menu.
- Slack and Linear delegation: Send !help in Slack or Linear threads for usage guidance, or !connect for step-by-step session connection instructions.
