Mistral Vibe released versions 2.25.0 through 2.25.8 in September, introducing major workflow improvements including conversation branching, enhanced tool management, and better session visibility.
Conversation and Session Management
- Conversation branching: The /branch command forks the current conversation into a new resumable session that can be continued later with the vibe --resume option.
- Session status panel: A togglable panel displays agent steps, token counts, tokens per second, context size, and cost for real-time monitoring.
- Harness sessions: Experimental sessions track a pinned todo list and maintain a per-session scratchpad whose notes are restated after summarization.
- Prompt queueing: Prompts now queue through the app server, letting you select, edit, remove, pause, and resume them.
Tools and Integrations
- Major connector availability: Notion, Linear, Slack, GitHub, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Drive are now available in ACP for direct integration.
- MCP server management: Plugin-declared MCP servers appear in a dedicated menu tagged by plugin, with login authentication and notifications. You can now manage them sessionlessly from the shell.
- Permission system for tools: MCP and connector tool calls now prompt for approval on first use and remember your choice, with smart approve asking for confirmation on risky actions.
- Worktree plugin: A built-in plugin automatically creates, reuses, and cleans up git worktrees under $VIBE_HOME/worktrees.
Interface and Workflow
- Compact tool call folding: Tool call groups fold into a single summary line that expands on click, updating to "Running commands" or "Ran commands" as status changes.
- Skills browser and toggling: A new skills browser with search and filtering lets you enable or disable any installed skill without uninstalling it.
