Pi released version 3.5 in June with new model support across multiple providers, enhanced project trust controls, and improved terminal integration.
Models and Providers
- Claude Sonnet 5 and Fable 5: New Claude models are now available through Anthropic and Amazon Bedrock providers, with adaptive thinking and extra-high effort support.
- NVIDIA NIM and MiniMax support: Added support for Ant Ling and NVIDIA NIM providers, MiniMax-M3 model for direct MiniMax providers, and restored NVIDIA Qwen 3.5 122B NIM model support.
- OpenRouter Fusion: Now available as a built-in model alias for direct access without manual configuration.
Configuration and Security
- Project trust prompts: Loading project-local settings, resources, instructions, and packages now prompts for trust approval, with saved decisions and command-line controls for automation.
- Configurable trust defaults: Set whether unresolved trust prompts always allow, always deny, or ask each time, with extension access to trust decisions.
- Provider-scoped API key environments: Override Cloudflare, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex, Amazon Bedrock, cache retention, and proxy settings per provider in your auth configuration.
Interface and Integration
- Automatic theme mode: Set separate light and dark themes that follow your terminal's color-scheme changes automatically.
- Warp inline images: Images now render directly in Warp terminals through Kitty graphics detection.
- RPC mode launch: Pi can now be launched directly in RPC mode via a new package export.
