Warp released major improvements to agent workflows and remote capabilities in June, enabling multi-prompt queuing, expanded git support across remote sessions, and new model routing options.
Agent workflows and execution
- Multi-prompt queuing: Queue multiple follow-up prompts while the agent works using the /queue command, a prompt queueing mode chip, or settings. Queued prompts include a 'Send Now' button for immediate execution.
- Custom model routers: Direct agent tasks based on complexity or natural language rules to optimize execution paths.
- Local continuation for interrupted runs: Third-party agent harnesses like Codex and Claude Code can now resume locally when cloud runs are interrupted, with a new "Continue locally" button for mid-run switching.
- Agent handoff improvements: Handoff is now enabled for locally orchestrated conversations, and handoff surfaces accept empty prompts for single-click task delegation.
Remote and cloud capabilities
- Git operations on remote sessions: Manage repositories without local setup, with git chips now working in remote environments and GitLab cloning support in cloud environment setup.
- Remote project rules: Remote sessions automatically discover and apply project rules from WARP.md and AGENTS.md files, and SSH Agent conversations now access bundled skills, home skills, and file-based global rules.
- Automatic local-to-cloud handoff: Warp prompts you once to enable automatic handoff when your computer sleeps during agent runs.
Models and organization
- SuperGrok stable release: Connect your xAI Grok subscription and use Grok models in the agent.
- Conversation renaming: Use the /rename-conversation command to organize conversations better.
- External file opening: Open files at specific locations from external apps via warp://action/open_file_editor URIs.
