Amp expanded file support, added real-time collaboration features, and introduced new ways to manage costs and customize workflows in August 2026.
Agents and Automation
- Real-time voice chat with Puck: Speak naturally to the agent for hands-free coordination and progress updates using gpt-realtime-2.1.
- Global plugins and skills: Store reusable tools across projects with personal and workspace versions for team discovery and remixing.
- MCP server integration: Connect remote MCP servers across orbs, the TUI, and Puck with OAuth or Bearer token authentication.
Interface and Workflow
- Portals for HTTP services: Instantly access apps running in orbs via secure HTTPS links with live reloading, no VPN needed, and team collaboration support.
- Space to Talk: Built-in voice and video space in every thread for instant calls, screen sharing, and team collaboration without external tools.
- Multiple repositories per project: Check out up to 20 additional repositories alongside your primary one, visible in the changes panel.
- Friendly portal URLs: Share readable addresses like foo--yourname.onamp.dev or custom domains instead of auto-generated ones.
- Setup scripts outside repositories: Run pre-clone and pre-setup scripts for Git extensions, certificates, and credentials without committing files.
Models and Pricing
- Dial modes with OpenAI models: Low and high modes now use GPT-5.6 Terra and Sol respectively when you link a ChatGPT subscription, clarifying token billing.
- Cheaper orb sizes and auto-pause: a1.medium costs 50% less, all tiers are cheaper, and orbs auto-pause after 5 minutes instead of 15.
