CodeWhale released version 0.10.0 in September, adding offline model support, new providers, and expanded automation capabilities while improving the composer experience and Git workflows.
Models and Providers
- Alibaba Model Studio integration: Qwen 3.8 models now available as an OpenAI-compatible provider with live model discovery and native web search.
- DeepSeek Flash model: deepseek-flash added to the catalog with 1 million-token context, reasoning, and tool-call support.
- Offline Xiaomi MiMo support: MiMo 2.6 models can now run offline on first boot, with web search also available online.
- New built-in providers: ZenMux and CSDN 星图 are now available with their own API keys.
- Web search for multiple models: Provider-native web search added for Qwen, DeepSeek V4, Moonshot K3, and Xiaomi MiMo.
Agents and Automation
- Code mode: Experimental feature lets models express multiple tool calls as a single JavaScript program with auto-approved nested calls.
- Git commit planning: New commit_plan action proposes ordered atomic commits, grouping lock files with manifests and tests with their source.
- Cloud agent dispatch: codewhale dispatch command lets local sessions propose cloud agents against GitHub, Gitee, or CNB remotes.
- Terminal control mode: /pet command takes control of the terminal, displays the viewport, and shows answers or errors after each turn.
Interface and Workflow
- Immediate composer on startup: Composer now appears on first run, skipping setup gates until needed.
- Native ChatGPT sign-in: codewhale auth chatgpt stores refreshable tokens without requiring Codex CLI.
- Session export: codewhale sessions export creates a .tar.xz archive with session record, manifest, and artifacts, with force overwrite option.
Platform and Integrations
- Unified MCP and plugin auth: MCP servers and plugins now connect self-serve with unified authentication and token rotation.
- Runtime API expansion: Job management, workspace instructions, provider credential handling, and slash-command catalog endpoint added.
