Goose v1.40.0 to v1.45.0 expanded AI provider support significantly and improved session management and workflow control throughout the month.
Models and Providers
- Expanded AI provider support: Added support for GLM-5.2, GPT-5.6, Gemini latest, Opus 5, Grok, and numerous providers including Together AI, Perplexity, xAI, Alibaba Qwen, Databricks, Fireworks AI, and others.
- OllamaCloudProvider: Dynamically discovers available models and enforces context limits for local inference.
- Model switching mid-session: New slash command lets you change AI models without restarting conversations.
Interface and Workflow
- Chat sessions grouped by project: Navigation panel now organizes sessions by project for better clarity and navigation.
- Session editing and forking: The --edit flag lets you modify conversations before creating branches from them.
- Chat history search: Find previous conversations quickly through the navigation panel.
- Language selection: Desktop app now supports Japanese and Russian locales alongside existing languages.
- Image streaming in live sessions: Image content now streams to clients during active conversations.
Extensibility and Tools
- Tool call output visibility: Tool outputs now surface in both CLI and Desktop interfaces for better transparency.
- MCP extensions and hooks: Enhanced plugin system with MCP extensions in open plugins and structured per-provider configuration.
