Kilo Code advanced from version 7.5.9 to 7.8.1 in September, adding powerful agent collaboration features, improved pull request workflows, and better control over long-running tasks and sessions.
Agent Control and Collaboration
- Goal command: Sessions can pursue a shared goal with pause, resume, and clear controls, and agents can start or resume goals themselves.
- Subagent model selection: Orchestrating agents can now select a model, provider, and reasoning effort per subagent task without experimental flags.
- Kilo Swarm: Opt-in shared board for parallel work within a session, with board_post and board_read commands for agent collaboration.
- Session cron scheduling: Recurring or one-shot tasks that fire between turns, enabling automated workflows.
Pull Request and Code Review
- Inline PR review threads: Display review threads directly inline with author avatars, thread navigation, and ability to jump to diff locations or send to chat.
- Multiline PR comments: Write, preview, and edit PR comments and code suggestions directly in Agent Manager, with separate send-to-Kilo and send-to-GitHub actions.
- PR discussion in Agent Manager: View pull request discussion comments and review submissions with options to send them to agent, terminal, copy, or dismiss.
Interface and Workflow
- Reasoning Blocks display modes: Expanded, Preview, and Headline modes replace auto-collapse for better control over reasoning visibility.
- Context cards: Code added via "Add to Context" appears as collapsible cards in the prompt input, keeping prompts tidy.
- Session tabs and pinning: Pin tabs to stay at the front of the tab bar, persisting across reloads and surviving "Close Others".
