Google Antigravity released major updates throughout July 2026, advancing from v1.0.15 to v1.1.9 with significant improvements to code review workflows, agent customization, and developer tools.
Code Review and Workflow
- Request-review mode: Now the default, pausing before file writes to show interactive line-level diffs you can accept or reject.
- Slash command chaining: Stack multiple commands in a single prompt to execute them in order.
- Code search command: New /codesearch command searches your workspace with regex by default, plus literal matching and file filtering options.
- Effort adjustment: /effort command lets you balance reasoning depth against latency on the fly.
Agents and Customization
- Markdown agent definitions: Define custom agents using Markdown with YAML frontmatter, system prompts, and execution policies for faster prototyping.
- Agent mode cycling: Switch between default, accept-edits, and plan modes; persist your preference in settings.
- Custom agent selection: New --agent flag and agent/agents subcommand to select and list custom agents at launch.
SDK and Integration
- Local model execution: SDK now supports LiteRT for Gemma and OpenAI-compatible APIs like Ollama with full Model Context Protocol alignment.
- Enhanced tool capabilities: Custom tools return images, documents, audio, and video directly; built-in web fetch tool retrieves structured content from URLs.
- Enterprise sign-in: Support for Gemini Enterprise accounts and Workforce Identity Federation via Advanced SSO with organization admin controls.
