Codex 0.158.0 adds support for connecting to MCP servers with pre-registered OAuth client secrets via the command line. The fullscreen TUI now offers configurable copy-on-select and right-click paste, with copied selections preserving Markdown formatting. Image generation and editing can request transparent backgrounds, and edits now accept file-backed conversation images. WebSocket connections to exec servers are now secured with bearer tokens. Terminal input approval is enabled by default for elevated commands, reducing unnecessary review prompts.
