Devin released major improvements to session organization, automation capabilities, and integrations throughout August, with a redesigned sidebar, new collaboration features, and expanded MCP marketplace support.
Workflow and Organization
- Sessions sidebar redesign: Customizable tabs, grouping, filtering, and nested trees for sub-Devin sessions make organizing work cleaner and more flexible.
- Side Chats: Start parallel conversations anchored to any session point without interrupting Devin's main work.
- Multi-select tag filters: Filter sessions by multiple tags with per-tag counts and machine type filtering.
- Devin Coach: Real-time suggestions in the input box help you refine prompts before sending.
Automations and Integrations
- Automations API production launch: Session filtering by automation ID and Terraform provider support enable programmatic automation management.
- Improve Existing Automations: Have Devin iterate on automations you've already built to enhance them.
- GitLab automation triggers: Automations now trigger on issues, notes, pushes, and pipelines with webhook management.
- Slack integration enhancements: Thread follow-ups automatically route replies back to sessions, and mute moves sessions to the webapp while preserving work.
Security and Administration
- Security profiles: Admins can control network access across sessions and automations organization-wide.
- Private network MCP servers: Route OAuth and server calls through your private tunnel instead of the public internet, with custom certificate authority support.
